Did God create everything? Does evil exist? Did God create evil?

A University professor at a well known institution of higher learning challenged his students with this question:

“Did God create everything that exists?”

A student bravely replied, “Yes he did!”

“God created everything?” The professor asked.

“Yes sir, he certainly did,” the student replied.

The professor answered, “If God created everything; then God created evil. And, since evil exists, & according to the principle that our works define who we are, then we can assume God is evil.”

The student became quiet & did not respond to the professor’s hypothetical definition. The professor, quite pleased with himself, boasted to the students that he had proven once more that religious faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand & said, “May I ask you a question, professor?”

“Of course,” replied the professor.

The student stood up and asked, “Professor, does cold exist?”

“What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?” The other students snickered at the young man’s question.
The young man replied, “In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, & heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460F) is the total absence of heat; & all matter becomes inert & incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat.”
The student continued, “Professor, does darkness exist?”

The professor responded, “Of course it does.”

The student replied , “Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact, we can use Newton’s prism to break white light into many colors & study the various wave lengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness & illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn’t this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present.”

Finally the young man asked the professor, “Sir, does evil exist?”

Now uncertain, the professor responded, “Of course, as I have already said. We see it everyday. It is in the daily examples of man’s inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime & violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.

To this the student replied, “Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness & cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God’s love present in his heart. It’s like the cold that comes when there is no heat, or the darkness that comes when there is no light.”

The professor sat down.

The young man’s name–Albert Einstein.
[A true story]

“The world is too dangerous to live in, not because of people who do evil but because of people who sit and let it happen.” - Albert Einstein

“All you need is love – John Lennon

And what is the opposite of love? … Hate?

In fact hate is not the opposite of love… it’s the absence of love.

The opposite of love is indifference.

Many of us complain of the injustices of this world, yet we often do nothing. Perhaps some of us feel powerless and don’t know what to do. Or even worse, some of us don’t care cause we falsely believe it has nothing to do with us.

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” – another famous quote – Mahatma Ghandi

Each of us has the power to better the world. We only need to do what we can do.

  • Be accepting and non-judgmental
  • Be caring and sincere
  • Be compassionate – to all living things

We’re all connected. When we truly realize this fact, there will be more love, more peace, and more happiness in the world.

Know, first, who you are, and then adorn yourself accordingly.

The recognition of the art that informs all pure science need not mean the abandonment for it of all present art, rather it will mean the completion of the transformation of art that has already begun.

this story talks of a God like they have actually met this thing? or whatever they think a god might be of in there thoughts? seriously, no one knows what god is or what the intentions of a certain being would have, the things said by man, are just that, man made, no one has the ability to claim that a god does exists, it seems that the imagination of man runs away with them at times, making them think they are pure geniuses about god, when in fact humans are prone to believe gossip as much as god, when gossip is in fact false! facts are what is because they can be proved by man, right here and now, and again only from the imagination of man, can facts be real. the human mind makes it real. you have that right to make your world your world, that’s all of our rights, just like i am claiming what i am in this short essay, i don’t know it all, i just see it as it is, here and now, and not putting my trust in what isn’t here or now, that seems to be a fake notion of believing that there is a Santa clause, and the tooth fairy, or believing in unicorns… hahaha! don’t be silly people, religion is a man made belief just to keep people from hurting each others, a man made deal! words can only cut someone if they want there knife to exist in them words, its what you think of it(Belief), that makes it dangerous, or NOTHING AT ALL.
