If you’re reading this, you probably have a general understanding of the ‘law of attraction’. The Secret DVD is probably the most well-known film about it. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
Using that as a reference for this post, think of a radio or television. It basically receives or “tunes in” to a frequency so that already exists. Just because you’re not tuned into a specific station doesn’t mean that it’s not there. But in order to see or listen to it you have to tune in to the station (or frequency) that you want.
We are constantly receiving and [attracting] in a similar way. Not only that, we are also transmitting.
Think about it. Have you ever carried a bad mood into a totally unrelated circumstance? What happened? What kind of difference could it have made if your mood (or frequency) was different? Where do you think the term “bad vibes” came from anyway? Ever heard the term “like attracts like”?
We transmit through our thoughts and feelings. And what we transmit, we ultimately receive in like-kind. Meaning our thoughts and feelings are what “tunes” us into a matching [vibration] or [frequency].
Does it make any sense to get angry or upset at the radio or television station when we don’t like what we’re listening to? Of course not! Yet this is what most of us do when we get angry or upset at things.
How about just ‘changing the channel’? Meaning, when we’re not happy with what our ‘outer world’ is showing us, instead of getting angry or upset at people or circumstances, take it as a sign that we’re not [aligned] with what we really want. We’ll get better results by changing our own “channel” or vibration.
Of course it’s not always easy to do. Especially in the heat of the moment. Emotions and ego are the greatest obstacles.
At least by consciously knowing how we can move forward and gain more [control] over our lives, it will keep us from making the same mistakes or re-living negative patterns in the future.
In order to create our reality we must acknowledge that it starts with our own thoughts and feelings. Cause as the law of attraction suggests, we attract what we ‘are‘ – not what we want.
